Revolution vs Heartgard For Dogs And Cats

Hello everyone, it is Chip here to talk about using either Revolution or Heartgad for Cats and Dogs. With so many different medications now available, it is not easy for the Humans to know what is going to protect animals in the best way. Hopefully I can help. I have extensive knowledge of these medications, so can answer a lot of questions.

Revolution vs Heartgard

Me and Tato have written extensively about the benefits of each medication so it is certainly well worth visiting the individual pages for the prices, and for lots of important stuff. Here are the different options for Dogs and Cats.

Dogs

Cats

The main difference is going to come down to whether you want flea protection from your heartworm medicine. Both options prevent heartworm disease, and both options are going to stop some common intestinal worms as well. But with Revolution for Cats and Dogs we also get ear mite treatment and even more.

All of this will be better explained in a few simple tables. Let’s look at what each medication will guard against for Cats and Dogs. Dogs, first as I am the one writing this. And Dogs are better than Cats anyway!!

As we can see there is a real difference between Revolution for Dogs and Heartgard Plus for Dogs. Let’s see how the more basic Heartgard regular chewables compare. Bear in mind that the generic Heartgard Pus will offer the same benefits as the brand option in the above table.

Let’s see how the regular compares to Revolution.

Interesting stuff, eh?

The Best Option?

This is going to really depend on what problems the Dog may be facing. If fleas are a concern then Revolution is certainly the cheapest way to get protection for this and heartworm disease prevention.

And it is also going to depend on how you like to medicate as well. Revolution is applied externally to the skin, and Heartgard comes in a tasty beef chewable treat (yum!).

Let’s see how these two products compare for Cats.

Revolution vs Heartgard For Cats

There is no Plus option for Cats so we are comparing a basic chewable in this case.

For Cats, Revolution is better than Heartgard chewables if you want to prevent fleas, and also if ear mites are a concern. I know from living with a Cat that they are very naughty, and often pick up fleas and mites when they go off all night wandering about, and getting into trouble.

And while we are on the subject, how come Dogs are not allowed to go out all night?

No fair!

I hope that you have found this informative and useful. Be sure to check out each product page if you want to buy any of the products for a low price. And with no prescription too.

Thanks
